Giant spider web covers an entire field.

It could possibly be most people’s actual worst case scenario. Thousands of spiders made a web that covers an entire field.

Tracey Marris and her family planned to spend Easter Sunday at the Gordon Spratt Reserve in Papamoa, they had the shock of their lives when they arrived.

The reason behind the massive web is something spiders do call “ballooning”. It’s a method they use to escape dangers like flooding. Spider expert, Cor Vink, said.

 “It’s quite normal, they point their bums in the air and release a small line of silk. The wind picks them up and when they land the silk lands with them, almost like little parachutes”.
